Muzaffarabad: International Muslim union organised a seminar on the side lines of 37th session of united nations human rights council it was addressed by the speakers titled woman advocacy in conflicts. Mrs Julie ward who had come all the way from European parliament exclusively shed light on the challenges that woman face in occupation.
She referred to different violations that are committed in Indian occupied kashmir against woman. Brad Chapping of woman is a new phenomenon amid to harass them, She declared that she would advocate the cause of Kashmiri woman at every forum.
She also referred to her visit to migration camp in Muzzaffarabad where she met the women victims who had suffered the loss of there husbands, children but they where courages and carrying on with their lives through Hard Work, She saw them weaving the shawls for bread and butter.
She thanked Mrs Shamim Shawl for assembling the women advocates, Mrs Shamim Shawl highlighting the atrocities and violations pleaded that a peaceful and permanent settlement of Kashmir issue is need of the day. We appeal to the UK and EU women parliamentarians to visit as peace maker’s to Kashmir and both sides of LOC. And we have firm faith and belief that Kashmir’s will get their right of self determination and a day will come when the occupation forces will quit from Kashmir.
Prof Shagufta Ashraf moderated this event and She said that the dynamic role of women is pivital for peace processes and for conflict resolutions. Much of the progress achived must be attributed to the effetive mobilsation and advocacy by civil society.
