Idol worshippers, we are idol worshippers, yes we are idol worshippers. Gone the days when people used to talk about Quiad-e-Azam or Allama Iqbal as their role models, nowadays, my dear youth and we all are following idols. ‘Which idols are you talking about?’ if you ask, let me answer you. It’s the new era of westernization where we are adopting the European Gods.
We have fell prey to the western cinema, and with a quite considerable pace this is eroding our culture and making us worship them. Nowadays, people are more of a fan of Hulk, Spiderman, Superman or Batman but somewhere in our books we buried Jabbir Bin Hayyan or Al-Khawarzmi. From the straight path we shifted our self to the strayed path we fall ourselves as a victim of westernization and that’s the reason we are falling behind, we adopted another identity. We left our religion and converted back to idols. This time they are not in the shape of stone craved statues but the characters of western screens.
The sun that always used to rise from the east in the shape of Hazrat Ali, Rumi, Ibn-e-Sina, Al-Biruni, & Allama Muhammad Iqbal has changed his direction to the west in the shape of Einstein, Edison or Stephan Hawking.
But why? It’s because we have changed our idols, for them Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was he leader their role model, but for us it’s Western Creations that distracted us from the path. For us Islam is only a topic to debate sects, for them it was a complete lifestyle.
Fortunately, I can say that still there is a ray of light in the dark cave of idolatry that can take us out of this era of ignorance, back to the time when Sun will rise from the east & all of the sky that is absorbed by darkness will be enlighten by the shining stars of Islam. And for this we have to change our idols. We have to read Allama Muhammad Iqbal, we have to follow this endless list of personalities in our history. We have to become a Muslim again.
