Lahore : Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday directed the Anti-Terrorism Court to hear the Model Town incident case on a daily basis.
A two- member bench headed by the chief justice heard the suo moto case pertaining to the Model Town incident.
During the hearing of the suo moto case at the Supreme Court Lahore registry, the chief justice cancelled the leave application of ATC judge Ejaz Awan and asked him to adjudicate all cases regarding the Model Town incident within two weeks.
The chief justice also issued the orders that Justice Ali Baqir Najfi’s report about the Model Town incident should be made part of the case record.
Justice Nisar also inquired from the Punjab prosecutor general if any summons were pending against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minsiter Shahbaz Sharif regarding the case. The prosecutor general said that no summons was pending against the two as no cases had directly been registered against the two.
The CJP had taken the suo moto notice of the delay in the adjudication of the model town case.
