I can’t swallow why have things become normal for us which should not have become! I mean there are many many things which are though not acceptable for us but they don’t move us that much now. Yes, I am talking about rapes and child labour and murders and killings and blasts and violence and what not. We see them on television, news bulletins, Facebook newsfeeds, Instagram timelines, Tweets and where not. We see and hear them and we scroll down. The ones who are comparatively sensitive then the rest go and comment plus sad react too but you know what the sad part is?
Most of us have now even stop doing this too. Why? What has created this indifference to such heartwrenching incidents? It’s not a one day process that resulted in this behaviour. It involves years and decades of exposure to such soul shattering but actual real life incidents that happen and have been happening around us. Now coming to something that has been eating me inside for more than a month now is my burning homeland Kashmir! Its more then three weeks that my land is in a curfew and what is happening there is all over social, print and electronic media. I can’t explain or talk about it because it eats me inside and shatters the remaining pieces of my heart and soul.
The oppressors there in my homeland are oppressors, they didn’t break me because they are not humans, what broke me was the stance of so so many people i came across in this time. There are people who said we should not talk about this and let this pass because this TOO SHALL PASS. This too shall pass taking lives of thousands of my brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers.
There are social media influencers and youtubers who refused to say anything about it because they have not said anything about some other thing in the past. It means if you didn’t offer your Fajar, you won’t even offer Zohar. There are people who said talking about this is a part of activism and we are not activists.
Really is Kashmir issue a social, religious or national issue? If you think so i think you have failed as a human being because you don’t need to an activist,a philanthropist,a leader,a politician,a spokesperson, a Kashmiri or whatsoever to speak about it,you just need to be a human and if you are a human you would have already raised your voice against this tyranny, oppression and genocide of my race. You would have already played your part, done your role according to the legitimate powers you have and if you have not,you need to rethink about the purpose of your life and existence as a HUMAN because humans can’t swallow this, they can’t digest this, they can’t let it go so easily.
