ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday the Supreme Court (SC) directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit detailed report on allotment of 20 Kanal plot to Jamia Hafsa in H- 11 Sector.
The case was heard by a bench of three members comprising of Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, Justic Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Qazi Faez isa. While hearing the case Justice Gulzar asked about the total area of Lal Masjid and also the details of the owner of that land.
On question of Justice Gulzar about ownership of Lal Masjid’s land the Deputy Attorney General told the bench that the land is owned by government. On this, Justice Gulzar summoned Amir Ali Ahmed chairman CDA who told that in 1970, a total of 9,533 yards of land was allotted for Lal Masjid. While 206 yards of land was allotted to Jamia Hafsa. In further explanation, Chairman CDA told that Maulana Abdullah was appointed as Muezzin of the Masjid, and was succeeded by his son Malulana Abdul Aziz.
On this explanation, Justice Gulzar remarked that this means that Maulana Abdul Aziz was an employee of government.
Chairman CDA also informed that, Maulana was removed from his job back in 2004 but up till now the mosque is in his control.
On this reply of Chairman CDA, Justic Gulzar said where is the writ of the state when he is still holding the control of the mosque in the middle of federal capital? Was it his personal property?
The parents of two children also appeared before the court and said that their children were missing since 2007.
Parents of two children who were missing since 2007 were also allowed to appear in front of court, who told that their children are still missing. On which, Justice Gulzar directed Commissioner Islamabad to submit detailed and separate report on the missing children.
The hear was adjourned for a month.
