Islamabad: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that incumbent government of AJK is taking necessary measures to promote business activities in the State, development of State is based on business rather than public sector employment. Prime Minister expressed his views in the oath taking ceremony of Traders Joint Action Committee (TJAC) here on Monday.
Minister of the State Mrs. Noreen Arif, Newly elected Chairman of TJAC Abdur Razzaq Khan, Patron in Chief Khawaja Farooq Ahmed Qadri, Basharat Mughal, Mir Imtiaz, Ashfaq Tareen, Nisar ur Rehman Abbasi, Asghar Nisar Mir and others also addressed the occasion.
Speaking on the event, Prime Minister stated that foreign investment in AJK especially share of corporate banks and Diaspora will create new employment opportunities for the masses, “State does not progress with the creation of public sector job opportunities but it develops with trade and business” he said.
Prime Minister reiterated that we will set some conditions for schedule banks to give loans on easy terms and conditions for the promotion of business activities in the State.
The Government of AJK started several schemes for the promotion of new businesses under Azad Kashmir small industries corporation and Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and providing loans to all small, medium and larger level traders on easy terms. “The basic facilities and requirements will be provided for the promotion of business activities” he added.
PM AJK also added that the proposal for making a ware house for commercial goods coming through LOC trade is under consideration. Meanwhile, Prime Minister also announce to establish nursing schools along with Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot Medical colleges in next fiscal year. “Those who occupied the land despite of getting compensations, I want to tell then they have to leave the land before long because once being compensated, the land becomes public property” Prime Minister stated.
Talking about Kashmir Council, Prime Minister said that relations between Pakistan and Azad Kashmir will improve and strengthen more after the abolishment of Kashmir Council. He said, “In order to empower the Azad government, steps will be taken according to the manifestation of PML-N”.
Some people want to keep the Kashmir Council positions confidential for special interests, they do not realize the difficulties being faced by the masses in AJK. He lamented that council employees get handsome salaries including other perks and privileges, “they are getting salaries of more than 30 months in one year and this money is collected from the people of the State, This money should be spent by the elected government of the State for the development of the State” PM AJK maintained.
Prime Minister cautioned that some public sector employees did wrong tasks to and they have been observed responsible for favoritism and nepotism, such employees will be accountable before long.
Moreover, Prime Minister also apprised the audience that he is aware of the load shedding issue being faced by the people and the progress on diminishing force load shedding in AJK is in progress on federal level.
